The Downtown Special Improvement District Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. The location is to be determined and may take place virtually due to COVID-19. Please watch for an update on the location closer to November 18th. The regularly scheduled November meeting will be held directly after. Cheri Hottinger’s seat is up for election. This three-year term will begin on January 1, 2021, and run through December 2023. Cheri will be running again so to avoid a conflict of interest, any SID member interested in running for the open seat must submit their nomination to Chase Ghiloni ([email protected]) no later than October 20, 2020, in order to be listed on the printed ballot.

City of Newark Unveils New Brand Identity and Logo
Newark Development Partners is a 501c3 Community Improvement Corporation formed in Newark Ohio to help progress the agenda of the city. When they first started, they focused on collaboration with the city during the utility upgrade and streetscape project, which was by all accounts a wonderful success.
Next on the agenda for NDP and the city of Newark is the addressing image of the city and communicating that to our residents, businesses, organizations, and those outside the city who look to Newark as a location to visit live, and start a business
On Tuesday, November 12, Newark Development Partners and the City of Newark unveiled a new logo and brand identity. The new logo reflects on the Licking County seat’s rich history and changing the face. Newark’s new brand gives residents and businesses alike a sense of pride, as well as a way to attract newcomers to the community and put Newark on the map. At the same unveiling event, the editor of Ohio Magazine presented Newark with the Best Hometown Award for the central Ohio region for 2019-2020. With more restoration and beautification projects slated around the city the new brand just adds to all the good momentum taking place in Newark. The regularly scheduled November meeting will be held directly after in the same location. Chase Ghiloni’s seat is up for election.
